Cleburne, Texas, May 28: J. S.CUNNINGHAM, from Iowa applied for a license
from County Clerk, S. P. RAMSEY to wed Mrs. S. W. SWIFT of Cleburne. They
had been sweethearts in Iowa 50 years ago. He had searched for and finally
found her in Cleburne after his wife died.

A damage suit was filed in Burleson County civil district court by Abram EDEL against San Antonio Express for publishing his name instead of his brother, Sol EDEL’s name as the man who was implicated with Walter HUGHES in the alleged attempt to kidnap Frank DUNN’s son for $40,000 ransom. Counsels for plaintiff were PERRYMAN & BULLITT.
A damage suit was filed by Mrs. Fannie B. HUGHES, widow of Walter HUGHES, who was killed while attempting to enter Frank DUNN’s house in Caldwell on the night of March 17. She is suing Frank DUNN for $15,000 for depriving her of her husband and his support. Counsel for plaintiff is Henry S. WILLIAMS.

Zanesville, Ohio, June 19: John McFARLAND died from a sudden stroke at his home 10 miles west of here this afternoon. Mr. McFARLAND’s son and a Mr. BARBER went to Cooksville after the undertaker and on the way back they were struck by lightning, as was Mr. Charles WATTS, the undertaker and his son. The undertaker was seriously injured, but may recover. BARBER and young WATTS died instantly.

Willie WILLIAMS, son of Ike WILLIAMS of Georgetown, Texas was knocked off a load of oats while driving his father’s wagon. The front wheels passed over him and he is now in a precarious condition.
W. E. MORROW, old citizen of Hunt County was struck by a Medlin train
three miles west of Commerce and was killed.
