CLARKSVILLE, Texas—W.W. Alley, 71, of Detroit, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, in a local nursing home. 

Mr. Alley was born Nov. 28, 1936, in Delta County, Texas. He was a retired rural mail carrier and a member of Bennett Lodge 531 and Detroit First Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Deviney Alley of Detroit; one son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Karla Alley of Detroit; one daughter, Dawana Gill of Mineral Wells, Texas; two stepdaughters, Melody Stone and Dedra Taylor; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Evelyn Alley of Detroit; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles “Pete” and Cheryl Devincy; and six grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Detroit Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Draper officiating. Burial will be under direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
