Ranger Exes Memorial - Faculty DAVID ALLSUP, 80, of Ranger died on May 26, 1993, in the Abilene Regional Medical Center. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Allsup was born January 22, 1913, in Enloe, Texas to Van Buren and Era Mae Kerbow Allsup. He was a graduate of the Naplels Texas High School. He married Erma Sue Loper October 24, 1942. He was a Veteran of WW II, serving with the Army's 77th division in the Pacific Theatre. He received his teaching certificate from East Texas University in Commerce, a MA from the University of Texas at Austin, National Science Grants throughout the U.S. He served with the Texas National Guard in Brownwood, server as VA instructor to Veteran Farmers in Bowie County for 12 years. He moved to Eastland County in 1957 and was Professor of Biological Sciences for Ranger Jr. Colllege from 1957 to 1978. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ranger where he served as Treasurer of the United Methodist Men, he was also a member of the AARP, 77th Division Association, The Disabled American Veterans, The Senior Citizens Group in Ranger, and The Ranger Lions Club. Survivors at the time of his death include his wife of 50 years, Erma Sue Allsup of Ranger; a daughter, Sandra Owen (RHS-1962) of Arlington; a son, David Allsup (RHS-1970) of Ranger; a daughter- in-law, Joan Allsup; a son-in-law, Maurice Owen (RHS-1962); three grandchildren, Brando Owen, Jessica and David Kyle Allsup; a step-grandchild, Debbie Lynn Ensor of Longview; 2 step-great- grandchildren, Chasity and Chelsea; a brother, Keith E. Allsup of Douglassville; two sister, Doris Sutton of Ouray, Colorado, Neysa Best of Dallas; a sister-in-law, Verlma Allsup of Nocoma; and many nieces and nephews and friends. http://www.angelfire.com/tx/rangerexes/fm27.htm
