Clairemont
Clarence Benningfield, 80, of Clairmont died at 10:35 P.M. Sunday at
his daughter's home of an apparent heart attack. Services will be at 2
p.m.
Tuesday in the Weathersbee Funeral Home Chapel in Rotan.
The Rev Allan Cartrite, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Ruby, will
officiate. Burial will b in Clairemont Cemetery.
Born Jan 25, 1897, in Mills County, he was a retired rancher. He married
Zelna Smith July 28, 1918, in Rocky Ford, Colo He was a Baptist. He
moved to Kent County in 1942 from Taylor County.
Mrs Benningfield died June 17, 1970.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Leo Huff of Wichita Falls; Mrs manuel
Davis of Clairmont, Mrs W D Cate of Everton Ark and Mrs Maynard Willis of
Sweetwater two sons
S C Jr of Albuquerque, N.M., and Don of Clairmont; a brother, Nile of Fairplay,
Colo; 14 grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.
Pallbearers will be Arthur Seago, mark Montgomery, Horace Rankin, B A
Cumby,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Haldean Cave and Jimmy Byrd.
