Charles Allen Shipp
Rotan - Charles Allen Shipp, 74 passed away Monday, March 11, 2002 in the VA
Hospital in Big Spring Texas. Services will be held
Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Rotan
with Dutch Parks officiating, Burial will follow in the Riverdale Cemetery under
the direction of Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mar Shipp was born september 11, 1927 in Kent County to Vollie and Sarah
(Reynolds) Shipp. He later married Henry Annie "Biddie" Butler
on December 17, 1949 in Rotan, Texas. He was a well known rancher in the
area and was a member of the Stockholder's saddles in his riding career.
Mr. Shipp worked for the Spires Ranch for 22 years. He is known for
training cutting horses and steer roping. He served in the Army from 1946
to 1948.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, two sons, Vollie Dean Shipp of Fluvanna,
Texas and Charles Raygene Shipp of Roby Texas, Delbert Shipp of Seminole, Texas,
and Buddy Shipp of Memphis, Texas, six grandchildren, and five
great-grandchildren. Mr Shipp is preceded in death by his parents.
