Funeral services for Gladys C. Clark, 84, a former Breckenridge resident, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Harper, pastor, officiating.
Mrs. Clark died Saturday, Sept. 7, 1991, in a Houston hospital. Burial will be in Breckenridge Cemetery under direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Born Gladys Chrystell Pollard Jan. 27, 1907, in McGregor, she grew up there and attended schools in McGregor and Oglesby. She married F.E. “Joe” Clark on Oct. 25, 1924 in Waco. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1984.
The couple moved to Breckenridge in October, 1925, from Waco. She moved to Houston in 1985.
She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was active in the Women’s Missionary Union and the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Clark of Houston; a daughter, Pat Hamilton of Houston; a brother, Albert Pollard of Crawford; three sisters, Gracie Campbell and Kathleen Rhoads, both of DeSoto, and Rose Mary Westerfield of Crawford; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a sister, one daughter, Mary Clark Brawner and two grandchildren.
The family has requested that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Memorials may be left at Morehart Mortuary.
The family will receive friends in the Heritage Room of Morehart Mortuary Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brad Brawner, Charles Brawner, Donald Brawner, Joe Brawner, Tommy Brawner and Steve Clark.
