Charles Duncan

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Duncan of Ivan were in Breckenridge
as the result of a collision with a truck on the Cisco Highway. Mr. Duncan
suffered a broken left leg above the knee, broken left pelvis and serious
internal injuries. Mrs. Duncan suffered head and chest injuries. The driver of
the truck turned sideways and skidded striking the pickup that Mr. and Mrs.
Duncan were driving. Their pickup was demolished.
Charlie E. Duncan, 53, victim of the automobile accident on the Cisco highway,
passed away at the local hospital.
Born on a farm near Ivan, he lived there most of his life. He lived in
Brownfield and Plainview several years and returned to Ivan in 1932. He was a
stock farmer.
Survived by his wife; three children - Mrs. Virginia Kilgore of Dallas, Mrs.
J.L. Reed of Dimmitt; Charles E. Duncan, a 1945 graduate of Breckenridge High
School and now a student of SMU; one granddaughter; his father - Edward F.
Duncan of Decatur; two sisters - Mrs. C.F. Rickles of Hereford and Mrs. George
Nelson of Oklahoma City.
Mr. Duncan was well known as a progressive worker in soil conservation work in
Stephens County.
