                Lila Edith Mitchell, 86, died at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 1988 in Villa Haven Nursing Home.
                Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 1988, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles West, pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Kevin Mitchell, a grandson and associate pastor of Sunnyside Baptist church in Wichita Falls.
                Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, directed by Morehart Mortuary.
                Born Lila Edith O’Neal, Nov. 21, 1901, in Bell County, she attended schools in Strawn and graduated from Strawn High School.
                She married Joseph Hubert Mitchell, Dec. 26, 1920, in Gordon.
                She had been a resident of Breckenridge since 1955.
                She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, the Woman’s Forum and the Woman’s Club.
                Survivors include her husband of Breckenridge; a son, Glen Mitchell of Iowa Park; a daughter, Huberta Ross of Brownwood; a sister-in-law, Lula O’Neal of Austin; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
                Pallbearers were Leo Draper, T.S. Fuller, C.J. Lethcoe, B.B. Phillips, Sam Warford and Glenn Willingham.
                Honorary pallbearers were members of the Roughneck Bible Class of First Baptist Church.
