                Louise McCarthy, age 85, died Monday January 18, 1992, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
                Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 1993, at the St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Sid Bunn officiating. Burial was in the Breckenridge Cemetery, directed by Melton Funeral Home.
                She was born on January 6, 1908 in Emelton, Pennsylvania. She married David A. McCarthy Sr. on July 7, 1923 in Breckenridge. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1977.
                She had been a longtime Stephens County resident, a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women.
                She is survived by five daughters, Mary Nell Cox, of Irving, Margaret Kinney of Dallas, Shirley Pribble of San Jose, California, Dorothy and Betty Atkinson, both of Snyder; two sons, Joe McCarthy of Pasadena and David McCarthy Jr. of Breckenridge; one sister, Evelyn Deaver of Breckenridge; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
                Memorials may be made to the West Texas Rehab Center and may be left at the funeral home.
                Pallbearers were grandsons.
