James parents were Leander Pearce and Lydia A. Orme...Both born in Rhea Co, Tenn...
Leander born abt. 1820 and Lydia abt. 1835...They were marrried 27 Sep 1858 in Lamar Co, TX....Ref..Lib of Congress file.....Lydia died not long after James was born as Leander had several wives......
James also changed the spelling of his name to Pierce somewhere along the line...Nothing new here...Found many that did this...Including my own name....

Laura's parents were Green Pinkham Defee and Margaret Anna Defee nee Carr.
They moved from Pike County, Alabama abt. 1879....Settled in Hunt County, TX...Both buried in Kingston Cemetery, Hunt County, TX.
