Santa Anna, Tex., May 23.--Mr. L. WILLIAMS of Independence died at the Santa Anna hotel at 8 o'clock last night. 
Mr. WILLIAMS had been a sufferer for about seven months and had come to this place as the last hope of recovering 
health. The autopsy made by Drs. MAYER and MATHEWS revealed a large cancer of the stomach, secondary deposits
 occurring in the liver. The left superanual capsule was disorganized from the same cause. His remains were carried to 
Brownwood this morning, where he was buried at 4 o'clock this evening. His family and two brothers were with him 
during his last hours.
