There is a lot of very valuable and interesting information contained in the Vermont Town Records.
Some of it has been filmed and indexed on the Family Search Site.
Many of the actual vital document images are not indexed, but some have been indexed using other records.
The information below will help you find the actual documents.

This was a huge job to figure out the best way to make the information available.
Since the filmed files are not necessarily in alphabetical or chronilogical order, it took time to create the indexes for them.
The formats may seem funky, but I hope they make sense. In the cases where there were multiple years on one film or in one file, the files were divided into year batches.

The very old records are in 'ledger form' and do not have actual documents - these are 'one liners' - all available information was written in the ledger, across two pages. They were all filmed that way as well.
Many of the files linked below are pdf's - some are large so if you wish to study them off line, please download them.
