A joint resolution has been adopted in the assembly authorizing the joint committee on claims to introduce a bill granting each county agricultural society $100 per year in addition to the $100 now granted by law. It is to be hoped that the bill will be introduced and passed. While the legislature is voting large sums to the state and district fairs it should not forget or neglect the county societies. The medical profession has been investigating the cause of so much neuralgia of the head among women, and the conclusion is reached that the absurdily diminutive hats and bonnets which so many women wear, covering as they do, only a small portion of the head, come in for just denunciation as the of this disease. A writer in the British Medical Journal calls upon women to abrogate a fashion which is so unreasonable and deleterious. Professor Willoughby, who has for many years been at the head of the Boscobel schools, has completely lost the use of himself from his breast down, making locomotion impossible. The physicians do not call it paralysis exactly, but one who is unacquainted with other correct terms to apply, would call it that. He will be taken to Milwaukee this week and placed in charge of some competent physician having the requisite conveniences for handling such cases. The Spring Green Home News says that Thomas Hood closed his term of school at Viola last week. He informs us that he has concluded to go into business in Viola, and has formed a co-partnership with a young man of that place, to conduct a wagon manufactory and repair shop. He has the good wishes of hosts of friends. Miss Lida Hood, sister of Thomas, has also completed her winter term of school at Sylvan, and will teach the summer term of the Viola school lately taught by her brother.
