The Village Board
The village board met in regular session on Monday evening. N. L. James presiding. Trustees Strang, Sanford and Allen were present.
The following bills were allowed: G. L. Spangler, village marshal, $42.25; W. H. Pier, hose, $303.00; W. Hill, $4.50; Bowen & Allen $4.50.
The chairman appointed Messrs. Allen and Sanford to confer with sheriff regarding the use of the jail as a lockup for offenders arrested by the village marshal.
The village treasurer was requested to make financial statement at next regular meeting.

A Card
I desire most heartily to thank all the citizens of Richland Center for the timely aid they rendered me, in saving my stock and household goods during the late fire which burned down my beautiful and substantial structure on the 26th ult., also for the many kind expressions of sympathy from the people of the county in general.

The public is hereby notified that I have fitted up pleasant rooms over O. J. Burnham’s drug store, where I am prepared to do all kinds of dental work just the same as though the great fire had not disturbed me.

In Richland Center, February 12, 1883, a morocco pocketbook containing a twenty dollar good piece and 25 cents. The finder will be rewarded by leaving the same at this office.

A pocketbook containing  a sum of money which the owner can have by calling at The Republican and Observer office and proving property.
