Wednesday, November 22d, 1826. The House met pursuant to adjournment... Mr.
Duke presented the account of SAMUEL LOCKER, jailor of Marion county; which
was read, and referred to the committee on accounts.

I assume that this location is MARION CO., AL.
Would anyone have information on SAMUEL LOCKER? I show my 3 rd grandfather

PEARCE
- Elizabeth & James Pearce moved from Gwinnett Co., GA, to Marion Co., AL in
about 1823 with three children. They moved there with Elizabeth's parents,
George & Abagail Humphries. Elizabeth and James had three additional children
after arriving in AL. In 1827, James died leaving Elizabeth with six children
under the age of nine. Elizabeth is listed in the 1830 Federal Census with six
children. The Humphries are also listed in that census.
In about 1838, Elizabeth, her six children and her parents moved to MS,
settling in Itawamba Co., MS and the Humphries settled in Lafayette Co., MS.
Have not been able to link my Pearce line with the line of Pearce's that
founded Pearce's Mill.
Am looking for anything about Elizabeth and James or the Humphries family.
They would have been in Marion County only during the period 1823 to about
1838.
Thanks for any assistance. I may be contacted at
