Reed / Marrs - I am looking for my GGgrandparents Nancy Reed and
Ira Marrs. The lineage of IRA MARRS, (WILLIAM,JR., WILLIAM, SAMUEL, WILLIAM
ERSKINE). Their son, JAMES WILLIAM, was born 3-7-18?? in Paris, Edgar County,

Jr.'s first family by Roxy Mitchell rather than from his second family by Mary
Jane Sunderland Corns as birthdates don't match for James William.
This
is the lineage from me to James William birthdates: Patricia, August
25,1942, Victor G., July 27, 1907, Charles Albert, January 28, 1881, James
William, March 7, 1841that my uncle gave me. Could you help clear this
mystery for me? Also I don't have date of birth, date of marriage, or parents

William C.P. Weaver - I am researching my WEAVER ancestors who
lived in Paris before the turn of the century. I want to establish a dialogue
and communicate to you, in hopes of closing gaps of other genealogists in
Edgar Co. who may be seeking lost links to my family. Let me share my history.
My direct line is as follows: Gordon Thomas WEAVER Jr. 12 Dec 1959,
Charleston, SC Gordon Thomas WEAVER, 31 May, 1937, Falmouth, KY Charles
Thomas WEAVER (Jr.) 1905-1979, born in Falmouth, KY Charles Thomas WEAVER
1877-1965, born in Falmouth, KY William Samuel WEAVER, 10 April, 1852 to
1908, born in Falmouth, KY William G. P. WEAVER, 3 January, 1881, born in
KY, died 29 October, 1881 in Paris, IL.
William G.P. WEAVER was my 3X
great grandfather, and is my oldest direct ancestor. He moved from Falmouth,
(Pendleton Co.) KY sometime near 1879, and is listed as a taxpayer in Paris.
His wife, Cynthia nee ROGERS WEAVER, moved with him to Paris, and at least two
daughters as well. Stella WEAVER married John B. HENRY in Grandview, 29 Aug.
1885 (Edgar Marriages, 1B, pg 139). Amanda J. WEAVER married George T.
MCDONALD, 6 July, 1881 (1B, pg 72). One son, George W. WEAVER, married Ida B.
WALTERS, 31 Oct. 1882.
Wm. G.P.'s oldest son, John M. WEAVER,
(1840-1918) and his wife, Eliza J. nee CUMMINS WEAVER and their small family
also moved to Edgar county. Both of these families are found in the 1880 Edgar
Co Census, pg 19, dwelling 196, family 210 and 211. They resided on Elm St,
Paris City. If other sons or daughters of Wm. G.P. and Cynthia moved to your
county, it is not known.
Wm. G.P. was a carpenter by trade. He fell off
a building in October, 1881 and broke his back. He expired on 29 October, and
was buried in Grandview. This information appears in Paris Death Register,
page 60.
I am hoping you might know a HENRY, McDONALD, or WALTERS
descendant who recognizes these old marriages to WEAVER.
I have
databases of transcribed marriages, births, deaths, and Census schedules for a
few counties in KY, Pendleton 1860, 1870, Bracken 1810-1860, Nicholas,
Fleming, Harrison 1810-1840 to name a few. I have transcribed every WEAVER or
variant in the KY 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 Census (Soundex) as a foundation to
my project. I have a large active address book of WEAVER researchers
throughout the U.S. For about one year, (I am very new at this science), I
have dealt with many researchers who are stuck at an early KY wall before
about 1830. I desire to see these standalone WEAVER individuals in early KY
find their ancestors, and perhaps links to each other.
I want to offer
to you and anyone else in IL studying their WEAVER line a helping hand from
the KY side. I would like to build some bridges. Gordon T. Weaver, Jr. - 31 Mar 1999
John Callahan - I am searching for information about my great
grandfather John Callahan. I have information that he married in Edgar County,
IL on 9/6/1858. He married Catherine Barry (or Berry). Both are buried at the
North Arm Catholic Church Cemetery in Hunter Township, Edgar County (Paris),
IL. I am trying to trace the famiy lineage back further than this date. Other
info I have: Dates of death are 4/16/1901 and 11/22/1883, in the 1850 census
both list Ireland as place of birth. Is there any way to find out when they
came over from Ireland? How? Where they may have entered the US? Also, there
is John and Mary Barry listed in the 1850 census also, cound this be Catherine
Barry's parents? John and Catherine are listed also again in the 1870 census
of the same township (Hunter). Any added information would greatly be
appreciated. Thanks, Maureen Callahan
