Lowell Ernest Raffignone

November 22, 1929 ~ June 19, 2019

Lowell Ernest Raffignone, 89, of Dillsboro passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg.

Lowell was born Friday, November 22, 1929 in Milan, Indiana, the son of Ernest and Marie (Rupp) Raffignone. He was a member of the Versailles High School graduating class of 1948 and went on to serve his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Kay Long on December 28, 1955 and she survives. He was an active member of the Dillsboro United Methodist Church and was the former owner/operator of Elrod John Deere Implement Company, a lifetime farmer and retired as a supervisor from the Fernald plant. He was a member of multiple organizations including: Hopewell Masonic Lodge F & AM #80 of Dillsboro, Scottish Rite, Southeastern Indiana Shrine Club, Northcutt Laaker American Legion Post #292 of Dillsboro, and Milan VFW Post #6234. He was an avid golfer, NASCAR fan and enjoyed fishing.

Lowell is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Kay; daughter Linda Kay Raffignone of CA; grandchildren: Dalton Dreihaus, who is in the U.S. Navy in Hawaii, Adam and Blake Dreihaus both of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by daughters: Lisa Ann Raffignone and April Lynn Dreihaus; his parents; brother Lovell and sister Erma Eaglin.

A service celebrating his life will be held 11 AM Monday, June 24 at Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro with Pastor Deb Beason officiating.

Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, with full military rites provided by Northcutt Laaker American Legion Post #292. Family and friends may gather to share and remember him 1-3 PM Sunday, June 23 also at the funeral home with Masonic services at 3 PM by Hopewell Lodge #80.
