Reeves was incorporated July 11, 1911. Reeves is 12 miles west of Kinder, in the southwestern part of Allen Parish. Mr. Dallas H. Reeves, Sr. operated a grist mill on Clear Creek where the railroad crossed Clear Creek. The first Post Office Custodian was Mr. John A. Bush. In addition to the Dallas Reeves family, there were John B. Kent and Benjamin Dunnehoo with their families. Same Owens was the first Mayor. Town Marshal was Allen Martin. The first Aldermen were David Cole, Dallas H. Reeves, Jr. and Sam Kent.
