Merry Christmas! I'm hoping to find more information on my GGGrandfather, Nicholas D. WAGNER, b. March 14, 1823 in Germany; emigrated to Canada with his family at the age of 10. Nicholas married Sarah in Waterloo, Canada and emigrated to Fillmore Co, MN in 1857. Nicholas died Sept 28, 1896 at Preston Village, MN; his wife, Sarah died July 1897 and is buried at the M.E. Church, Preston Village. Sarah was born about 1827 in Vermont. Nicholas obit stated he left a wife, two sons and seven daughters! One of his daughters was my GGrandmother, Mary Jane "Jennie" WAGNER, b. Spet 17, 1855, Canada. Jennie married George D. HURLBUT. Jennie died October 20, 1893 at Preston Village. Some of the younger children were raised by other people. My grandfather, Owen D. HURLBUT was six years old when his mother died and he changed his name to Daniel REAMS later in his life. His grandmother was Catherine REAM; I suspect he was raised by his cousins. It like to learn more about Nicholas and Sarah, and their other children. This is my first MINNESOTA email, it's taken me six months of genealogy research to work my way west of the Mississippi River! Looking forward to hearing from you'all. Sincerely, Orin Reams, USN (Ret) now anchored at Fredericksburg, VA oreams@erols.com

Am seeking Frederick TROGSTAD, my GGfather and his ancestors and his death record. Frederick lived in Harmony, Fillmore Co at least between 1880 and 1895. Married Isabelle / Ingeborg Larson Dec 1878. Gmother Tilla Ella Nora (called Nora) Trogstad born 16 Jan 1886. Ingeborg died 29 July 89, age 37. Frederick and 2nd wife Emma sent Nora & bro Ted to Tacoma c. 1900. to live with Tobias and Gulbinda Larson, older childless relatives formerly of Harmony. Tobias was a minister of the Norwegian Lutheran Church of Harmony, and then so. of Tacoma. Although Ina Trogstad, dau of Frederick and Emma, is mentioned in an obit for her half brother Ted in 1950 as living in Caledonia, MN, and my gmother and she corresponded at least into the 70's, the Trogstads disappear from all census records after 1895.

HUGH and THOMAS PARSLEY, early settlers in Chatfield, circa 1853. I know Tom moved on to SD but Hugh seems to have died about 1861. No grave in the local cemetaries - is he on the farm - sections 10 and 11 were his and Tom's areas. Also want to find out when they immigrated from Ireland.

My great great grandfather, Holge HALVORSON, came to Fillmore County from Norway (Aal Parish, Buskerud) in 1850, but I do not know anything about him in the US. The family (he brought a large family with him) lived in Newburg Township and were probably farmers. Holge Halvorson was born in 1797. His son Ole HELGESON was born in 1829 and his other son, my great grandfather, Halvor Helgeson was born in 1846. I know that Halvor Helgeson went to Ada, MN, but don't know what happened to Ole or to the daughters (Ingri or Ingrid, Randi, Haldis and Anne).

I'm looking for information about my great grandmother. Her name was Sophia, Sophie, Jane or G. Sophia (I am sure it is the same person) and I don't know her maiden name. My grandfather (Herman A. HELGESON)'s birth certificate lists her as Jane born in Norway. Some old Census records list her has having been born in Wisconsin. She was born November 04, 1852. Her husband was Halvor Helgeson and they were probably married in Fillmore County (Newburg Twp) between 1865 and 1874 when their first child was born. In 1879, the family (Halvor, Sophie and three children: Ina, born 1874, Herman, born 1876 and Oscar, born 1878) moved by covered wagon to Anthony Twp in Polk County (which became Norman County) and are thereafter associated with Ada, MN. Sophie died there October 24, 1894. I want to know her name, who her parents where, where she was born, and when she was married.

I am looking for Andrew CHRISTOPHERSON (Christofferson, Christorperson, and variations thereof) as is noted in the 1880 census index I found in Seattle for Fillmore Co. I don't know if he is related, but he is the only one in Minnesota, and my Andrew was in Minnesota then. Any info to help identify this one would be appreciated.
