Obituary

Frank Frederick AHRENS was born in McKenney, Illinois November 23, 1882, the son of Christian and Minnie AHRENS. In the year 1889 they moved to Minnesota where he attended local grade school in Okabena.

In 1905 Mr. AHRENS was married to Johanna BECKER of Rost township and they moved to a farm in West Heron Lake where he resided until he death. His wife preceded him in death. In 1912 he was married to Anna GERDES of Brewster and to this union two sons were born, Walter of West Heron Lake, and Raymond of Okabena.

Mr. AHRENS met death instantly in a car accident at 4:30 o'clock on the 12th day of January, 1948 at the age of 65.

Funeral services were held at the home Thursday at 1:30 and at 2 o'clock from St. John's Lutheran Church of which he was an Elder for 6 years and a Trustee for 6 years. Rev. George SCHWEIKERT officiated. Interment was made at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Okabena.

He is survived by two sons Raymond of Okabena and Walter of West Heron Lake, two brothers, Herman and John of Okabena and two grandchildren.

Pall bearers were Fred BENSON, Henry ATZ, Ray MUNDT, Henry SIEVERT, Charles LUFT and R. HEIDEMANN of Benson, Minn.

Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mrs. Eric ERICKSON of Ironton, Minn., Mrs. Alvina GERDES and Mr. and Mrs. Fred BESSER of Luverne, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd POTTER, Mr. Warren WILSON, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence GERDES, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey GERDES, Mr. Lindle GERDES all of Worthington, Mr. Hie GERDES and Shirley of Brewster, Mr. and Mrs. Emil VON HOLDT and Betty Lou of Round Lake and Mr. and Mrs. George NORDEN of Sturgeon Lake.

Mr. AHRENS was also a director in the creamery from 1914 to 1941.
