Oliver Caldwell dies suddenly at Residence
Services for Oliver C. Caldwell, 79, were held at the Vaiden Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 1963 with the Rev. Leslie Nabors, a former pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. J.R. Williams.
Burial was in the Vaiden City Cemetery with Winona Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Caldwell, who died suddenly at his home Friday afternoon, was a retired farmer and the oldest living member of the Columbiana Methodist Church, having been a member for 63 years.
He was born in Montgomery County but had made his home in Carroll County for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Bell Jones Caldwell; two daughters, Mrs. Spence (Catherine) Townsend of Winona, and Mrs. James Hart (Annie Laura) Morrow of Webb; two sons, Marion C. Caldwell of Vaiden; and John Caldwell of Dallas, Tex.; one brother, J.M. Caldwell of Vicksburg; and ten grandchildren.
Pallbearers were B.F. Heath; Roy Haire, Taylor Everette, J.H. Armstrong, Jessie Stewart, Wilburn Alford, Charlie G. Fullilove and W. J. Bufkin.
