Mrs. Lura Jackson Claimed By Death
Mrs. Lura Jackson, 76 year old resident of Route 1,
Greenwood, died at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital last
night at midnight.
Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
at Centerville Church in Carroll County with A. P.
Gilder officiating. Burial will be in the church
cemetery with Wilson and Knight in charge.
Mrs. Jackson was the widow of the late J. D. Jackson
who died 15 years ago. She was a member of the Baptist
church.
She leaves four sons, Jasper Jackson, W. H. Jackson,
Ernest Jackson, David R. Jackson; four daughters, Mrs.
A. S. (Lillian) Johnson, Mrs. R. H. (Grace) McDaniel,
Mrs. Campbell (Louise) Goss, Mrs. Ben (Barbara Ann
Myers) Welch (this is actually her granddaughter); also
a sister, Mrs. T. E. (Effie) Hunt, all of Greenwood:
twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-seven
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: A. J. Johnson, Roy Jackson, J.
L. Jackson, Rufus Jackson, Ben Welch and Donald Galey.
