VAIDEN -- Services for Rachel Alice Carter King, 88,
of Vaiden, who died of heart failure Tuesday, Jan. 16,
2001, at Tyler Holmes Hospital in Winona, were held
today at 10 a.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. King was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh
Baptist Church in Carroll County.
She was preceded in death by a son, Curtis A. King.
She is survived by her husband, William Monroe King
of Vaiden; three daughters, Mary Luther of Crenshaw,
Ernestine Holt of Pearl and Ann Blaylock of Vaiden;
three sons, Ronald "Tootsie" King of Vaiden,
Bill Leamond of Pearl and Frank Leamond of Vaiden; 12
grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 18
great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The Rev. Doug Warren officiated at the services, and
the Rev. Victor Taylor assisted. Pallbearers were Harold
King, Mike Oliver, Billy King, Tommy Noah, Wayne Henson
and Junior Cuomo.
