VAIDEN - Services for Charles E. Melton, 89, of
Vaiden, who died of kidney failure Monday, July, 24,
2000, at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko,
were to be at 2 p.m. today at Oliver Funeral Home in
Winona.
Mr. Melton was a retired employee of the Mississippi
Forestry Commission. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World
War II. He was a member of Midway United Methodist
Church in Vaiden.
His wife, Lorene Noah Melton, preceded him in death.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Melton Leach of
Vaiden and two grandchildren.
The Rev. Jimmy Latham was to have officiated at the
services. Burial was to be in Old Salem Cemetery near
Vaiden.
Pallbearers were to be Ben Cauthen, Terry Cauthen,
Dale Lee, Ralph Self, Charles Ellis and Greg Kelly.
