Mr. Charles Swinton Minyard, 70, of Pascagoula, died of cancer
Oct. 18, 2001 at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula. He was
the retired owner of Minyard Appliance G.E. Sales and Service
Center in Cleveland.
Born in Carroll County, he resided in Cleveland for 20 years
where he served the Cleveland Community as local General
Electric Appliance dealer. He attended the Primitive Baptist
Church, and retired to the Gulf Coast, where he resided in
Pascagoula for the past 10 years. He fought cancer for more
than five years but left peacefully with God. He will be
missed by many friends and family from the Delta and the Gulf
Coast.
Funeral services were held Oct. 20 at the Williams and Lord
Chapel in Greenwood with Elder B.T. Strum officiating. Burial
was in Moore’s Memorial Cemetery in Carroll County.
Mr. Minyard is survived by his wife, Virginia Minyard of
Pascagoula; one daughter, Brenda Joyce Lancaster of
Pascagoula; two sons, Charles Allen Minyard of Flower Mound,
Texas and Terry Wayne Minyard of Bonaire, Ga.; two sisters,
Shelby Rickles of Greenwood and Geraldine Brewster of McCarley;
three brothers, Earnest Hase Minyard of McCarley, Thomas
LaVern Minyard of Greenwood, and James Carlton Minyard of
McCarley; six grandchildren, Brad, Adam, Kasey, Josh, Matt,
and Morgan Minyard.
Pallbearers were Stevie Sherwood, Genoa Williams, Joe
Enriquez, John Lancaster, Dink Fleming, and Chuck McDaniel.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Joel Brunt and George Ferri.
Williams and Lord Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
