Services for Elinor Campbell Montgomery, 88, of
Carrollton, who died of heart failure Saturday, July 22,
2000, at Tyler Holmes Hospital, will be at 10:00 a.m.
Monday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Carroll County.
She was born in Carroll County and resided most of
her life in that area. She was a member of the Mt.
Pisgah Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school
teacher for more than 25 years and a former member of
the Sunshine Circle.
She is survived by her husband, Valley Lee
Montgomery, Sr. of Carrollton; three sons, V. L.
Montgomery Jr. of Saline, La., Don Montgomery of
Jackson, and Frank Montgomery of Carrollton; four
daughters, Linda Rayburn, Hazel Swindoll, and Bunny
Palmertree all of Carrollton, and Jean Payne of Eupora;
three sisters, Elvie Montgomery and Beth Laney both of
Kilmichael, and Rose Davidson of Greenville; one
brother, Charles Campbell of Greenville; 19
grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m.
at the funeral home. The Rev. Gary Tanner will officiate
at the services.
Pallbearers will be Scott Montgmery, Patrick
Montgomery, Dale Montgomery, David Montgomery, Duane
Montgomery, Brad Rayburn, Curtis Payne, and Chris Payne.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Rayburn, Gerald Payne,
and Lee Montgomery.
Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Carroll
County.
