COILA - Services for Mildred Marie Shelton, 85, of
Coila, who died of heart failure Tuesday, June 5, 2001,
in Americus, Ga., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lee
Funeral Home of Winona.
Mrs. Shelton was a homemaker. She was a member of the
Coila Baptist Church.
Her husband, Howard F. Shelton, preceded her in
death.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeanette Avant of
Americus; a son, William Donald Shelton of Carrollton;
two sisters, Eva Pinkston of Vaiden and Myrtis Floyd of
Winona; a brother, George N. Gober Jr. of Carrollton;
six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The Revs. Norris Corley and Duane Jenson will
officiate at the services. Burial will be in New Salem
Cemetery in Carroll County.
Pallbearers will be James Pinkston, Daniel
Willoughby, Bobby Floyd, Steven Avant, Greg Avant, Jason
Shelton, Chris Shelton and Don Gober. Honorary
pallbearers will be Steve Anderson, Charles Johnston,
Douglas Avant, Dr. Milliard S. Costilow, Hugh L.
Mathews, Cliff Martin and Edward Schur.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the
funeral home.
