VAIDEN - Services for Elaine Price Yelverton, 52, of
Vaiden, who died of cancer Saturday, May 3, 2003, at
Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, were at 2
p.m. today at Shongalo Presbyterian Church.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Bay Springs Cemetery in Bay Springs.
Mrs. Yelverton was a homemaker and a retired teacher
who continued her role as educator in Sunday school and
Women in the Church at Shongalo Presbyterian, where she
was a member. She was also a pianist.
Mrs. Yelverton is a covenant child of God and has
been adopted into His family. Her witness to her Savior
in her life and in her death was a reflection of her
love for Him. "Praise God from whom all blessings
flow. Praise Him, all creatures here below. Praise Him
above, ye heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son and Holy
Ghost." She has fought the good fight. She has
finished the race. She has stored up for her a crown of
righteousness.
Mrs. Yelverton was preceded in death by her father,
Vendeck Price, and a brother, Deck Price.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Toby
Yelverton of Vaiden; a daughter, Victoria Kate
"Katie" Yelverton, of Vaiden; a son, Jonathan
"John" Toby Yelverton of Vaiden; her mother,
Victoria Price of Pascagoula; and a sister, Diane Butler
of Gautier.
Visitation was from noon until the time of the
service today.
Pallbearers were Randall Yelverton, Mark Yelverton,
Marion Jones, Ken McDougal, Lee Abraham and Sam Abraham.

Oliver Funeral Home of Winona is in charge of
arrangements.
