I am searching for information on family members located on the 1880 Federal Census in Carroll County, MS. My husbands great grandfather was Charlie W. Browning. He was ~5 years old in 1880. His mother was "Mary" Browning. She was listed on the Census as living with her parents R.J. and Elizabeth Sanders. This has lead me to believe that Charlie's father was deased in Carroll County. "Mary's" children on the 1880 Census include: Betsy Browning, James Browning, Charles Browning, Mary Browning, and "Alphus" Browning.
