Searching for BURTONS in MS:
Martha M. who married Joseph Drake on Nov. 14, 1857;
Emerline Burton who married A. S. Bayley on Jan. 8, 1846;
Celia who married Elijah Powell on Dec. 24, 1856; and
Martha who married E. E. Pitman on Sept 20, 1859.
Also, there was an Eveline
Burton who was appointed guardian of Charles A. Burton,
James R. Burton, and Julia B. Burton, infant children
of Robert Burton, late of Yazoo Co., deceased: this
info came from the February Court, 1844.
According to the 1840
Carroll Co. census, there was an Edward R. Burton who
resided in Carroll Co. with 8 slaves.
