Seeking records on
Indian Village located in l848-49 on "Puttahcahcoah
Creek" (this may be your present Petticocowa Creek) -
information taken from American State Papers under the
title of "Indians Owning Farms"...does anyone out there
know about this settlement and if there exists data
concerning same or suggestions on where I might access
this information. I am specifically looking for records
concerning Choctaw Emmahka, widow of Choctaw Jeremiah
Carney, who was living on 3 cultivated acres of land on
"Puttahcahcoah Creek" with 5 in the family. To find this
data is important for the ongoing of my research.
