Would like to correspond with Carpenter researchers about
Owen Carpenter who is listed with Nathan and Nelly in 1870
census. He is listed as age 16. My husband is a descendant
of Jim W Carpenter and Cassie Crow. Finally got
confirmation through a family letter that Jim is a brother
to William Green Carpenter, son of Nathan and Nelly. Jim and
Green married Crow sister, Mary Elizabeth and Cassana
(Cassie).
I have always been leary that he was their son because
he is never listed with them in a census. But when I got
the 1870 census, they do have a child listed who is 16 named
Owen. I have Owen listed as the last son. Perhaps, Jim W
is this Owen with a 2nd or 3rd name that we did not know.
