Harry Terrell

Query posted April 3, 2004

I am looking for information about the Terrell family of Black Hawk, MS. Harry Terrell was possibly a small landowner in Black Hawk as early as 1860. I don't have his wife's name. They had six surviving children in the late 1860s and early 1870s. The first names of the children were Singleton, Marinda, Prince Albert, Victoria, Cornwallis, and Washington. The family was reportedly Creek Indian, though the surname Terrell is common among Choctaws and Black Hawk is in Choctaw territory.
