Watson Cemetery

According to the Carroll County, Mississippi Cemetery Book it states as follows:

Location: Leave Carrollton on the Jefferson Road and go north about 6 or 7 miles. Just past the home of Mathis DeLoach a wagon road turns right and leads through a pasture. Park the car on the paved road and walk east on wagon road for about 1/2 mile. Burying ground is located on left bank. We think the cemetery is located in Sec. 17, Tnshp. 20, R 4E. Mathis DeLoach owns surrounding land. (County Coordinator's Note:  BLM-General Land Office records indicate that Samuel Watson applied for land in Sec. 17, T20, R4E in 1861.)

Copied by: Arnie Watson & Ethel Bibus on Aug. 22, 1985.
Note: One large stone predominates and bears the following inscription: "This stone is erected in fond memory by kinsmen of those ten early settlers of Carroll County who rest here on the old homestead." According to the account of a descendant, Arnie Watson of N. Carrollton, Miss., the Watsons, the Roziers and the Musselwhites came together from Scotland to North Carolina, then to Mississippi and Carroll County when the county was new.
Then it just gives the names of the people buried there. Hope this helps.
