• Alan Bobbe is willing to do look-ups in the following source:
  • I will be happy to provide whatever information my 1882 - 1982 Centennial publication contains to any one who inquires. The publication I have was published by Trinity Print 'n Press of Ellendale, ND in May, 1982. Curiously there is no title page or listing of the editor or editors. There is a picture of the six members of the Centennial Book Committee. Their surnames are Sand, Kitzinger, Marttila, Nell, Rempher and Robb.
    The book is hard bound with a brown faux binding. It contains 384 pages. The businesses current at the time of the Centennial are listed and pictured. The greatest number of pages are devoted to lists and photographs of residents of the county, along with bios of the families or individuals that range from a single paragraph to several columns. Some of the bios and pictures are of pioneers no longer living but whose stories were submitted by their descendants. The final 75 pages are devoted to histories of Ellendale and other towns, historical pictures, churches, social clubs, and the blizzard of 1966.

    Here is a list of the heads of families in the book, they are roughly in alphabetical order but some seem to be tacked on at the beginning and end, and many were listed by either their anglicized surnames or their Finnish names with the other in parentheses.

• Michelle Ross is willing to lookup obituaries in the Ellendale and Oakes newspapers. Please provide her with as much information that you know.
  

• Viki Scheldrup has access to several sources in ND, mostly through the State Library and the local library (which has a really good selection of County Books). She also goes to Minot and Bismarck when she's really stumped - the ND Death Index is there, plus ALL the county books and many extras written by residents of the counties. She would be happy to do whatever she can for those researching family in Dickey county.
  

• Michele is willing to provide the following service free of charge.
  Although I do not have history books specific to Dickey County, I do have several books that have been indexed at the North Dakota State University's biography web site. Most specifically, I have 3 distinct sets of books that contain individual biographies of ND settlers. They are:
  
  • 1) North Dakota History & People - Outlines of American History authored by Colonel Clement A. Lounsberry, founder of the Bismarck Tribune. This 3 volume set was copyrighted in 1917.
  • 2) History of North Dakota by Lewis F. Crawford. This 3 volume set was copyrighted in 1931.
  • 3) 1900 Compendium of History & Biography of North Dakota
