I have an old photograph of my great grandfather, Peter ZURBUCHEN, in wedding
garb with a woman. I am assuming that they were married in Michigan - and then
had their picture taken there. I have no other information relating to Michigan,
ND as my great grandfather settled permanently in Bangor, WI. This wedding must
have taken place between 1880-1890's. The woman's name may have been Margaret
JANSON/HENNING/HINGING (born Nov. 12, 1863-Dec. 27, 1898). As the surname is not
certain - my great grandfather may have had more than the 2 wives that we do know
about.... My great grandfather, Peter Zurbuchen, was an immigrant from Switzerland,
and his dates are: Oct. 26, 1859-Oct. 15, 1930.

McDOUGALL, James Armour and Fannie Lived in Lakota (Nelson County), North Dakota
from about 1884 until approximately 1907. He owned 160 acres of land (NE quarter
of Sec.17 in Twnsp. 152, North of Range 61, West of 5th Principal Meridian) as well as
a house in Lakota that was located on 5th Street. He was in business with another man
for a time in Lakota. The business name was McDOUGALL and WEHE and while I don't know
the type of business they conducted, James McDougall's occupations on census forms were
listed as: carriage maker, woodworker, carriage woodworker and wheelwright. He designed
and patented a tool to cut down a large wheel (as used for buggies) to a smaller wheel
(as used for automobiles). I would like to find any kind of records that may be available
for the period of time the family lived in Lakota such as school, business, real property
just to name a few. Any help on where to locate these records (agencies, addresses, etc.)
or ideas on other records available will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to know
the township name of the above described land.
