ST. JOSEPH CEMETERY

Summit Township, 131-48 Section 31, NE 1/4

crossstjoseph

St. Joseph's Mission Church was located on this land. In 1928 the church was sold and moved away. The cemetery was neglected! In 1969 the Knights of Columbus from Wahpeton cleaned away all the stones, water willows, and lilacs. They buried the tombstones and built the brick monument with a bronze plaque with all the names of the people buried there. The grass is now kept cut and the cemetery is well preserved!
