SAMUEL EVANS "MINA HANSKA (LONG KNIFE)" MCELDERRY

Samuel was born 21 September 1816 in St. Louis, Missouri and died about 1897 in Sioux County. It is believed he was married twice. One marriage was to Wikogli (Transparent or Clear Woman) (died in Nebraska), the daughter of Sitting Crow, a Sioux Chief. Another marriage in Richardson County, Nebraska on 5 November 1866 to We-Ko-Ken-Dee, daughter of Kor-re-en-ta-Ka (Little Crow) Chief of the Blackfeet band of Sioux. Samuel worked for the American Fur Company. Known children: Fannie, Annie (Burial - More Family Info (Powers)), Elizabeth, Mary, John (1864), and Samuel.
Samuel is buried at St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery in Sioux County.
