About the NDGenWeb Project

In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database Project. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index.

At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page.

This idea spread to all include all the states. This is the project for North Dakota -- and our bottom line is helping researchers.

If that is your desire, you may participate in one of several ways.

You can submit data.
Contact the owner of that county page, whose name can be found on either their county page or on the county list.
Data may also be submitted through the NDGenWeb Archives. Contact our File Manager Mike Peterson for more information.

You may also wish to transcribe data, such as from cemeteries, or a census, which can be uploaded to the county website, Archives, or both.

Or perhaps you wish to Adopt a County.
