Charles Melvin Hensel, 77, of Huron, passed away at his residence, Monday, April 22, 2019.
He was born in Lima, OH. and grew up in Hardin County. In 1972 he moved from Hyannis, Mass. to Huron, OH.
He was the President of Arthur Corporation in Huron for 30 years retiring in 2012. He was a member of the Huron Eagles 2875 and served as Trustee for 10 years. He was a member of the Huron Yacht Club, and enjoyed spending his summers on Kelleys Island where he had a home.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel (Allen), whom he married on June 23, 1962 in Dola, OH at St. John’s Lutheran Church; his two sons, Gregory A. (Kerri) Hensel of Huron, and Jeffrey W. Hensel of Vermilion; grandchildren, Jordan A. Hensel of Richmond, VA, Sarah Hensel of Norwalk, OH, Tucker Hensel of Columbus, OH, Mathew Hensel, USAF of Georgia, Hallie Hensel of Huron; great-grandchildren, Jacen and Avery Teeters; and a sister, Rose M. Sons Zuchetto, of Kenton, OH.
He is preceded in death by his son, Ricky Melvin Hensel; his sister, Rita Burkhamer; and his parents, Melvin and Rose (Paterson) Hensel.
Friends may call Friday, April 26th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron. Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 27th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Johnson, of Hardin County, OH, officiating.
Burial of ashes will take place at Scott Cemetery, Huron, at a later date after cremation.
