Charles Edward "Casey" Jones, Sandusky departed this life on April 12, 2019 in Lorain, OH following a brief illness.
Casey was born October 26, 1937 in Shuqualak, MS. At an early age he relocated to Sandusky, OH where he was raised by his grandparents Willie-Belle & Buford Sims.
Casey graduated from Sandusky High School in 1957. He was employed with several companies in Sandusky - most notably Hine & Dauch Paper Company, then GM Delco Chassis (New Departure) until he retired in 1994. After his retirement, Casey and several other business partners opened and shared co-ownership of Club Impi Bar in Sandusky.
Casey was well known for his amazing sense of humor and quick wit. He enjoyed fishing, watching news and sports on television, but mostly spending time & sharing stories with his large family - especially his grandchildren & great - grandchildren, with whom he awarded each with their own individual nicknames.
Casey leaves to cherish his memory his loving children, who also had their own nicknames: Charles "Mannie" (Kim Prosak) Jones of Elyria, OH, Rochelle "Winkie" (Elijah Jr.) Wooten and Kelly "Dogg" (Andrea Webb) Jones both of Sandusky, and Timothy "Sam" Jones of Norwalk, OH; 13 grandchildren; 11 great -grandchildren; 8 siblings; Special friend (whom he'd affectionately called "Homie") Willie "Poon" Stockett; Special friend (whom he'd loved as a son) Phil Pearson; Good friend Lori Mitchell and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Casey was proceeded in death by his grandparents; parents: Franklin E. Jones & Lillian (McKinley) Black; Daughters: Candace Y. "Belle" Jones, and Tryna R. "Tyrina" Jones-Bagley; and siblings: Franklin "Woods" Jones, Helen Jones, Carl "Sonny" Black, and McKinley "Joe" Black.
At Casey’s request, cremation has taken place. A private memorial service is planned for the family. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky is handling the arrangements.
