Janice (Jan) Luna, 74, of Huron Ohio died peacefully in her sleep on September 25, 2017 at Norwalk Memorial Home.
Jan was born in Ashland, Mississippi where she learned the value of hard work on her family farm. In high school, Jan enjoyed competing on her school's basketball team and in fact, was voted most athletic in her senior class. It was high school basketball that led to the introduction to her future husband Coy. With more than just basketball in common, the young couple wed in June 1962. Following their wedding, the bride and groom moved to Ohio where Jan focused her attention on homemaking and motherhood. She cherished her time with her family and with her close friends. After her children graduated and moved away from home, Jan embarked on her next career by opening her own insurance agency - The Insurance Center. The third chapter in her life brought Jan full circle, and that was the complete joy she experienced as a doting and loving grandmother.
Many will remember Jan's smile, her laughter and sense of humor, along with her immense strength of spirit. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Norwalk Memorial Home and Heartland Hospice for the exceptional care and affection they provided to Jan in her final days.
Jan is survived by her devoted husband, Coy, married to for 54 years; daughter Paula (Dan) Paoletti; son Phil (Lisa) Luna; and five grandchildren Stephanie Luna, Catlin Luna; Noah Paoletti, Jonah Paoletti and Bella Paoletti; and a sister, Shelly (Gene) Edwards.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Muncie and Neola (Shelton) Graves; four brothers, Leroy, Samuel, Dale, and Ray Graves; and a sister, Billie Simpson.
Visitation will be held at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron, on Thursday, September 28, at 1:00 pm with a celebration of her life following at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Cheri Holdridge officiating.
