Edward Francis Miller, Jr. After a 15 year battle with cancer, Edward Francis Miller, Jr. passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017, at the age of 77 at Stein Hospice. He is finally at peace.

Ed was born in Sandusky, Ohio on October 1, 1940, the eldest of five children. Ed served for two years as a clerk in the United States Army before being honorably discharged in 1968. Ed then worked for Ford Motor for 40+ years. He had several positions at Ford over the years as he worked his way up through the company. He retired from Ford in 2002 as a systems analyst.

Ed married his wife, Vikkie (Weltle) Miller on August 22, 1969. They had two children and were married 47 years before Vikkie's death less than two years ago.

Ed was a lifelong runner/jogger. For years, he was easily recognizable in Huron as the man running through town in the early afternoon. Exercise and sports were important throughout Ed's adult life. He coached his two youngest children in several different sports as they grew up, adjusting his work schedule so that he was home each day by the time they got home from school.Ed was an avid music fan. If he was driving or running, music accompanied him wherever he went. He loved classic rock and popular country. He was a long-time Beatles fan and enjoyed seeing Paul McCartney in concert two nights in a row last year for his 76th birthday.

Edward is survived by sons, Richard (Lynn) Miller and Brent (Kathy) Miller; daughters, Kathleen Miller, Pam (Joe) Wieber and Meredith Miller; sister, Marilyn Dugan; brothers Bob Miller, Jerry Miller and Dan Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other family. He was a beloved husband, brother, father, uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vikkie Miller and his parents Edward Miller, Sr. and Virginia Miller.

Visitation will be at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron, on Thursday, October 19, from 5-8pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron, on Friday, October 20 at 1:00pm with Father Jeffrey McBeth officiating.

A private burial will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park.
