Paul R. Niehm Jr., 65, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 29, 2019 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
Paul was born on September 5, 1953 in Sandusky, OH to the late Paul R. and Corrine (Missig) Niehm Sr.
Paul was a 1972 graduate from Sandusky High School. He retired from the Lower Lake Dock Company in Sandusky after many years of service. During his retirement he worked in the maintenance department at The Meadows at Osborn Park. Paul was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, an Eagle Scout and also volunteered with the Perkins Band parents. Paul was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and also enjoyed fishing, watching old Westerns, history and spending time with his family, friends and granddog, Mocha.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Matthew) Ried of Sandusky; sisters, Karen (Nick) McCall of Norwalk and Cheryl (Doug Washek) Niehm of Sandusky; brothers, Richard (Debbie) Niehm and James (Jeanette) Niehm both of Sandusky; former wife, Kathy Niehm of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Friends may call on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 9:30 am until the time of funeral services at 11:30 am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Deacon John Bialorucki of St. Peter Catholic Church Huron will officiate.
Burial will take place at a later date in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
