Lisa Jo (Hipp) Stoneham, 62, of Huron, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Stein Hospice surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 20 year battle with cancer.
Lisa was born on August 16, 1956 in Norwalk, OH to Joseph and Eda (Sax) Hipp.
Lisa was a 1974 graduate of Edison High School and earned a Master’s Degree from Bowling Green State University. She was a dedicated and beloved teacher at South Central for 25 years who had a profound influence on her students. Her love of theater in high school and college led Lisa to co-direct the drama department at South Central for many years. Lisa was a member of the Foundation Church in Norwalk. In her spare time, Lisa enjoyed spending time with family and close friends. She will be remembered for her sincere personality, sense of humor and her caring heart that led to the strong relationships she formed and the many lives she touched. Her greatest joy was spending time with her 2 grandchildren, Max and Charlie.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Eda Hipp; father, Joseph Hipp; daughter, Sara (Brian) Weller of Sandusky; 2 grandchildren, Max & Charlie Weller of Sandusky; sister, Debbie (Larry) Kessler of Norwalk, OH; nephew, Joseph Koelsch of Huron; 2 nieces, Kristen Koelsch of Berlin Heights and Kylie Koelsch of Huron and many devoted, loving friends who were there for Lisa during her journey.Lisa is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, many aunts and uncles and special friend, Lisa Fantozzi, whose courageous battle with cancer inspired and gave Lisa strength to continue fighting her own battle.
Friends & family may call on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 12 pm until the time of the Celebration of Life service at 2 pm at The Foundation Church, 535 US State Route 20 E, Norwalk, OH 44857. Pastor Bob Hudberg will be officiating. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
