WILL OF JOHN McMAKIN 

In the name of the Benevolent Father of all I John McMakin of New Richland Lawrence County Ohio do make and publish this my last Will and Testament. 

First.  It is my will that my just debts and all charges be paid out of my estate. 

Second.  That I give and devise to my beloved wife and legitimate heirs and my father Owen McMakin, the remainder of my estate to be equally divided among them. 

Third.  I do hereby nominate and appoint Owen McMakin Executor of this my last will and testament hereby authorizing and empowering him to compromise and adjust release and discharge in such manner as he may deem proper, the debts and claims due me. 

Fourth.  I desire that no appraisement and no public sale of my estate be made and that the Court of Probate direct the omission of the same in pursuance of the Statute. 

Fifth.  I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made.  In testimony hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 25th day of March in the year of AD 1883.

NOTE:  According to Lawrence Co., early death records, this John McMackin died married on March 25, 1883 at the age of 28y, 5m, 4d in New Richland; he was born Union Fce.
