Scioto.org, the GenWeb page before 2006, was privately owned and operated. The site shut down when the coordinator resigned in 2006. If you go to scioto.org today you will get a page of unrelated links. This is because the domain name scioto.org is now owned by another party. This domain is not associated with OHGenWeb and is beyond the control of GenWeb. The archival site waybackmachine hosts the old pages of scioto.org. It's important to understand that these archives are beyond the control of GenWeb and they are often unavailable or very slow to load. Much of the data available on scioto.org was contributed by site users and copyright laws prevent it from being copied to this site.
