Levi PHILLIPS was born in PA to PA parents. He married Hannah Matilda (?) in PA. At the time they moved to Smith Twp, Columbiana Co, OH, they had two children, William b 1832,& Harriet b 1834. The next child, Samuel was b 1839 in Columbiana Co. He is in the 1840 US Census. He of course is in the 1850 Mahoning Co, US Census. I have found a lot of information about Levi but have no clues that would lead me to his parents. Any help would be appreciated.

Basil POOL(E) Jr.(1767-1850) and his wife Ruth KING arrived in Mahoning Co (previously Trumbull Co) ca 1808 from Montgomery Co, MD. Four children have been identified: Clarissa, m Solomon HOLLAND; Matthias, m1 Ruth KESUCKER, m2 Animale HARVEY; Robert, m Margaret KESUCKER;& William Warren, m Nancy MARINER. There were probably at least two other children. Basil may be a brother to Catherine POOL and his wife a sister to Edward KING who also migrated to Mahoning Co. Interested in exchanging information with anyone researching this family.

For a family book am looking for this couple, Samuel VAN ZANT and Ella WISE. Samuel d 1945, Youngstown, Mahoning Co, OH. Ella d 1919, was it also in Youngstown? Did they have any children? Both Samuel and Ella were born in Greene Co, PA. He in 1862 and she in 1866. Can exchange Samuel VAN ZANT's lineage back for many generations.

Their daughter Mynetta S. VOEGTLY married Frederick B. HANDEL of Youngstown in 1908. One son, Peter C. VOEGTLY was a newspaperman. Sophia DIEBEL was the daughter of Peter J. DIEBEL, Sr., also of Youngstown.
