Cemetery Transcription
Prepared by:
Allison Massengill Saxman
email: allison.saxman@gmail.com
Date of Transcription: August 15, 2001
I made every effort to be accurate in this transcription but
there could be errors. If you find an error, please let me know and I will
make corrections. There were 4 headstones that, though I have photographs,
I still cannot make out what is written (see photos of them
group 1 and
group 2). I will try to fill in that
information as soon as I can - if someone wants to volunteer to go to the
cemetery and check those four in person, I would be very grateful (I live in
Arizona).
I did not attempt to map out this cemetery because it is very
small and it's not hard to find the graves. I did try and go up and down
rows in order, as I could, so folks that are listed next to each other are
buried next to or near each other.
I have photographs of the following headstones and if anyone
would like to see a particular stone, I will scan it and post it on the site.
Please email me if you want this done.
Instructions: Find your surname and then
given name in the index below and click on the page number next to it to go to
the page where the details of that headstone are listed. These page
numbers correspond to the written transcription of this cemetery that I have
donated to the Mary Wallace Cobb Memorial Library in Vernon, Lamar
County, Alabama.
