Mulberry Springs Church
This church was chartered on Saturday, July 27, 1844 as Chincopen Grove Baptist Church with 15 Charter members: Samuel Alexander, John Terry, William Burrow, James Rasberry, Richard Terry, James Holladay, Phillip Woods, Katharine Woods, Elvira Marchbanks, Mary Holladay, Sarah Rasberry, Barbara Burrow, Sarah Terry, Charity Rasberry, Mary Ann Alexander, and by letter, James and Lucinda Woods. The next day, two more were received: Jacob Webb and a girl named Deeler. On Monday two more: Margaret Walker and a girl named Miley. On Tuesday, July 30 19 more: James Moore, Margaret Mason, Kibble Terry, Sarah Walker, Mary Alexander, Edmond Mason, A.H. Moore, John H. Moore, Susan G. Moore, Eliza Webb, Mary Moore, Mathews Taylor, Amelia Harris, Jesse Taylor, Nathanel Meadows, Nancy Terry, Collin Johnson, Ranson Rasberry, and Adaline Walker. Sometime between 1844 and 1874 Chincopen Grove changed its name to Mulberry Springs. In 1911 Mulberry Springs came together with Shiloh, Vernon, Pleasant Ridge, Friendship, Corinth and Prospect to form The Lamar Baptist Association.
